The First Day of Summer 2019
With the on and off weather experienced over the past few weeks, many of us are asking, ‘has summer begun yet?’ By meteorological definition, it did in fact start on June 1st (did you miss it?) Astronomically however, the definition of the first day of summer is based on the Earth’s axis and how it is tilted and its motion in orbit around the Sun. In simplified terms, it is when the North Pole is leaning most towards the Sun (for occupants of the northern hemisphere)
This year, in the U.K, this astronomical event coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, Friday June 21st.
On a grand scale, its mind blowing to think that the ability of planets and stars to move freely and without restriction in conjunction with each other can have such an impact on everyday life, past and future events. That any deviation or restriction to their movement would have a catastrophic impact on life on Earth as we know it. Whilst we cannot stop a meteor or asteroid shifting the Earth’s orbit around the Sun (we do not have Bruce Willis working for us yet J), we can at EWFM offer you products which will enable your own pipework/hose systems to move freely without risk to operators and the environment.
A great example of this is our wide range of swivel joints that can help relieve the stress and torsion that can build up along the line. Whether you need a small 2” swivel to allow your hose to move freely behind our filling nozzle when filling your casks with Whisky or Gin. Or you need a large 20” swivel to assist your hose reel system, we will have a solution for you
All of our products are engineered to your requirements ensuring you can trust us to keep all your projects running smoothly so you do not face your own catastrophic event.
If you have a planned project or requirement that you would like to discuss further get in touch with our Sales Team wherever you are in the world and we will be delighted to help.
