In the early 2000’s, blogging was a way businesses would market their products. We then saw media based platforms begin to explode in popularity and companies started to incorporate them into their marketing. By 2006, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn were the main platforms businesses used and then Instagram was added to that list. This gave companies an alternative as the platform is solely based around imagery rather than text posts like the others.
In recent years, social media companies have recognised the impact they have on businesses. Now, the majority of them have created tools to aid companies in achieving their marketing goals.
A study on social media was conducted in 2021 and it found that 54% of social browsers use social media to research products. Other studies undertaken also found that 67% of online shoppers have ended up purchasing a product after they have seen it advertised on social media. This data shows that these applications play a big part in the buying process for customers now.
How EWFM uses it:
For EWFM, social media is one of our most important marketing tools. We currently have a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, where we post on them daily. Instagram and LinkedIn are the two most valuable platforms for us. LinkedIn allows us to interact with current and potential clients. It is also where we upload images and blogs that have been posted on our other social medias. Instagram allows us to post images of the products we sell. It’s a great way to show customers real life images of products such as our range of Swivel Joints as well as our products being used in operation once they have reached the clients.
