Bottom Loading Arm Flexible Hose | Bottom Loading Arms | Model 750/740

The bottom loading flexible hose or Model 750/740 is EWFM’s most popular bottom loading arm. Due to the design, this allows for multiple arms to cross over each other in loading bays in the filling process. Ultimately, this means that multiple fluids can be filled from the same station to different connection points of a tanker or rail car. Instead of having a drop tube, this loading arm has a composite hose. This allows for a slight flexibility for users to reach filling points and stagger with other arms. If needed, we supply colour coded hose covers so you can easily distinguish between each of the fluid types.

Long Range Bottom Loading Arm | Bottom Loading Arms | Model 750-LR

The long range bottom loading arm or model 750 – LR with an unsupported boom is the loading arm solution for you if you’re filling from an increased range. Similar to the model 750/740, the arm consists of a composite hose which allows for slight flexibility and range to allow the user to reach the desired filling points. If needed, colour coded hose covers can be supplied to differentiate each of the fluid types. The difference from the model 750/740 is that it consists of five swivel joints. Three for horizontal movement and two for vertical movement. These are used to ensure a smooth operation. For increased ease of usability, a steering handle is placed on the final elbow to easily keep control of the arm when positioning it to the mating tanker.

The arm consists generally of five Swivel Joints.  Three for horizontal movement and two for vertical movement.  The configuration allows smooth operation for the user to ensure they can reach the desired fill point.  Generally, this is arm is used for Hydrocarbons and therefore Carbon Steel pipe and Swivel Joints are used.  We can however manufacture this in other materials on request.  As seen in the picture the final elbow is also installed with a steering handle to allow operators to easily keep control of the arm to position it to the mating tanker.

As standard the Model 750LR is installed with an API female coupler for a quick and easy connection to the tanker according to API RP 1004, this can however be changed to a dry disconnect coupling or others on request.

This bottom loader is also available as a vapour return model.  Very often the last arm in the loading bay is used to recover the vapour.  This arm can be modified to suit this need with different seal systems and a vapour coupling.

Bottom Loading Arm Rigid Tube | Bottom Loading Arms | Model 750-SPC

The bottom loading arm rigid tube (Model 750 – SPC) is designed for tank truck loading though an API Coupler which is according to API RP1004. This model offers bottom loading where there is no use of a flexible hose. Conditions where harsh hydrocarbons are used is where you will often find this loading arm being used. The difference between the other model 750 variations is that it has a rigid tube which is less susceptible of incurring damage, and it has a longer durability with less maintenance.

The arm consists generally of 4 Swivel Joints.  Two for horizontal movement and two for vertical movement.  The configuration allows smooth operation for the user to ensure they can reach the desired fill point.  Generally, this is arm is used for Hydrocarbons and therefore Carbon Steel pipe and Swivel Joints are used.  We can however manufacture this in other materials on request.  As seen in the picture the drop tube is installed with a steering handle to allow operators to easily keep control of the arm to position it to the mating tanker.

Furthermore, the flexibility of vertical movement is made possible through the use of a special light weight offset swivel joint located at the bottom of the drop tube. This loading arm also consists of four more swivel joints. Two of which are used for horizontal movements and two are used for vertical movement, they help extend the arm out to the tanker.

Please note that this bottom loading arm with rigid tube is fixed reach. Therefore, the road tanker or rail car must always be roughly a set distance away from the loading arm for it to work efficiently. It is likely that this will only be able to reach one fill point. However, our long range bottom loading arm can often reach multiple fill points without having to move the tanker.

Triple Range Bottom Unloading Arm | Bottom Unloading Arm | Model 2454-BC

The triple range bottom unloading arm (Model 2454-BC) is typically used for road and rail applications. This model is designed for unloading hydrocarbons products from a bottom connection point. This type of arm is mounted directly onto a riser post which is available on request. This is supplied with five swivel joints for vertical and horizontal positioning. The range and manoeuvrability means that it is easy to find and connect to the mating tanker connection.

The triple range bottom unloading arm is supplied with a with five Swivel Joints for vertical and horizontal positioning. Its range and manoeuvring abilities means it is easy to find and connect to the mating tanker connection.

Furthermore the arm also includes, a compression spring balance cylinder for ease of movement, a ball valve with locking device in the closed position, fitted with a vacuum breaker to allow fast drainage. Lastly, the model 2454-BC Triple Range bottom unloading arm can be manufactured in right or left hand configuration, please advise your requirement with your enquiry.

Manufactured to ATEX / PED standards.

Triple Range Top Loading/Unloading Arm | Top Loading Arms | Model 2503-BC

The triple range top loading/unloading arm is used for road tanker & rail car applications for transferring from a top or side connection point. This arm can be configured for loading or unloading, please specify with your enquiry. Due to this arms dynamics it tend to be used with chemicals where a flange connection is required for loading or unloading. As there is no vapour recovery or space for vapour to escape this arm must only be used with tankers that have a separate vapour recovery point. These are often situated at the bottom of the tanker for connection with a flexible hose.

TTMA Breakaway Coupling

EWFM supply a TTMA breakaway coupling specifically for bottom loading arm service. This is designed for bottom loading stations to prevent spillage when a tank truck is moved without disconnecting the API 4″ coupler. This prevents spillage from the hose therefore minimising a fire risk, damage to operators, the environment and equipment.

This coupling is fitted with TTMA flanges at each end therefore allowing close coupling with the API 4″ coupler and the swivel elbow. This TTMA breakaway uses the break stud method of dry disconnect. The coupling has a weight of 4.8kg and within the body it has a seal disc and two valves with pins at either end.
