Designed for all sizes of floating-roof tanks, the Secondary Compression Plate Seal (CPI) offers a reliable vapour-tight barrier without interrupting tank operations. Its external fixings, adjustable compression plate, synthetic wiper, and low-permeability membrane deliver consistent performance, while mounting flexibility accommodates vertical or horizontal rim angles. This seal reduces emissions and protects tank integrity with minimal maintenance and downtime.

The Secondary Compression Plate Seal (CPI) designed for floating roof tanks of all sizes, suitable for all grades of crude and refined products. It is engineered to be installed while the tank is in service, eliminating the need for hot work and minimizing downtime.
The seal features a compression plate, a synthetic rubber wiper, and a vapour barrier membrane. The compression plate can be manufactured in either galvanised steel or stainless steel, while the membrane is typically made from polyurethane-coated nylon fabric with very low vapour permeability.
All fixings are positioned on the outside of the seal, leaving the tank shell side completely smooth. This design reduces the risk of damage when the roof floats above the tank shell. The Secondary Compression Plate Seal (CPI) can be mounted on either a vertical upstand or a horizontal angle, and the dimensions of the compression plate can be adapted to suit a wide range of nominal rim spaces.
Installation is straightforward: the CPI Secondary Seal is simply bolted in position on top of the roof rim, providing a reliable seal without interrupting tank operations.
