The Primary Mechanical Shoe Seal (MS6) is suitable for a wide variety of tank types, handling the full range of crude and refined products. It is compatible with both welded and riveted tanks and accommodates wide variations in rim spaces.
All Primary Mechanical Shoe Seal (MS6) components are easily accessible, allowing installation and maintenance while the tank remains in service. No welding or flame cutting is required, and all components are secured with corrosion-resistant fasteners for long-lasting performance.
The metallic shoes are available in galvanised or stainless steel, with shoe height selected to match the rim configuration, minimise extension below the floating roof, and ensure compliance with environmental standards. The shoes are suspended within the rim space using bolt-on pantograph hanger assemblies. This flexible pantograph mechanism keeps the metallic shoes in constant contact with the tank shell, even when rim gaps vary, ensuring reliable sealing and vapour retention.
