LNG Breakaway Couplings prevent accidents during loading and unloading, particularly in cases of drive-away or pull-away incidents. Engineered for LNG and other cryogenic media down to -196°C, these couplings provide safety and reliability under extreme conditions.
They are available in two versions: Breaking Pin and Cable Release. The Breaking Pin design uses three pins with engineered weak points that break under a predetermined force, triggered by internal pressure or external stress. The Cable Release version separates the coupling by pulling a cable to release the locking bolts on the pressure clamps, allowing the poppets to close quickly. Both designs minimise product loss and reduce risk to personnel and the environment.
To ensure continuous operation in cryogenic conditions, the LNG Breakaway Couplings feature an integrated ice-breaking function, preventing ice build-up from affecting performance during LNG transfer.
