These couplings feature spring-loaded non-return valves on both halves and a secure fast-coupling system. Separation is triggered by a pre-set pulling force, independent of line pressure, providing controlled disconnection in either flow direction. Their non-destructive design allows rapid, tool-free reconnection, protecting personnel, equipment, and the environment while maintaining system efficiency during fluid or gas transfer operations.
In-Line Breakaway Couplings are designed to protect loading arm stations, hoses, and pipeline installations from fluid or gas spillage caused by unintended pull-away incidents. Common scenarios include tank trucks, rail cars, aircraft, or even drifting ships.
Both halves of the In-Line Breakaway Couplings are fitted with non-return, spring-loaded valves and are connected via a secure fast-coupling system. Separation is triggered by a pulling force applied through the hose, minimising product loss while maximising protection for the system.
The separation force is individually pre-set, ensuring the coupling provides optimal safety for the line. Operating independently of the working pressure, the coupling can function in either direction. Its non-destructive separation design safeguards the environment, operators, and equipment. Additionally, rapid reconnection is simple and does not require tools, spare parts, or shear pins, making it quick and easy to reassemble.
