Installed at the top of the drop tube, the Drop Pipe Contact Switch activates when the tube contacts the tank bottom, signalling safe initiation of loading. Compatible with electro-mechanical or proximity switches and ATEX-certified for hazardous environments, it ensures reliable operation on top loading arms, enhancing operator safety, preventing spills, and supporting precise, efficient liquid transfer.
The Drop Pipe Contact Switch is designed to control safe and precise loading of tankers or rail cars. Installed on the top of the drop tube of a top loading arm, the switch runs through the bore and beneath the T-deflector. During filling, the drop tube presses on the bottom of the tank, activating the mechanical switch. This signal allows the loading process to begin, ensuring the arm is fully lowered before product transfer starts.
This switch is specifically designed for use with our range of top loading arms, providing reliable operation in demanding environments. It enhances operator safety and helps prevent spills or errors during loading.
Optional configurations are available, allowing loading arms to be equipped with electrical components to signal multiple positions or conditions. Signals can be transmitted via electro-mechanical microswitches or proximity switches, both of which carry ATEX certification for safe use in hazardous areas.
Customisable, dependable, and designed for top-loading arm systems, the Drop Pipe Contact Switch is an essential component for precise, safe, and efficient liquid transfer operations.
