Description

The Double Compression Plate Seal (DL5) is based on the standard Compression Plate Seal and is designed for installation from the top of the tank roof. This design allows the seal to be fitted while the tank remains in service, as no welding is required. Each Double Compression Plate is custom made to adapt to tank deformations, ensuring a precise and secure fit.

The Double Compression Plate Seal (DL5) includes a skirt that extends into the stored product to minimise losses. Vapour barrier membranes are typically manufactured from polyurethane-coated nylon fabric with very low vapour permeability, while alternative materials such as PVC Nitrile, PTFE/Teflon, or Fireclose are available to meet specific requirements.

All fixings are positioned on the outside of the seal, leaving the tank shell smooth and reducing the risk of damage when the roof floats above the shell. The seal can be mounted on either a vertical upstand or horizontal angle, with compression plate dimensions adjustable to suit a wide range of nominal rim spaces. The wiper maintains approximately 65 mm of contact with the annular space wall, ensuring effective sealing.
