Did you know that the UK celebrated its National Beer Day this week? This is an annual celebration held on 15th June each year and it celebrates all beer including traditional ales, mainstream lagers, and limited edition craft beer and everything in between no matter where it is brewed or who owns the brewing company.
June 15th is significant because that is also the date Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. The great charter mentions ale in Article 35.

Beer was as important to our ancestors 800 years ago as it remains today. In fact beer today is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world after water and tea.
Beer sales were down 10% in 2020 due to the closure of pubs caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. However with the European Football Championships currently taking place and three of our home nations taking part the Industry is set for a much needed boost over the coming month. Last weekend for example it was expected that 10m pints of beer would be drunk during the England v Croatia game on its own and £400m would be spent over the weekend. We have all seen the images of beers being thrown in the air when joyous fans celebrate a goal being scored.
