These devices stabilise top loading arms by locking them in the operating position once the drop tube is in the manhole. Model 4942 is manually engaged via a control lever, while Model 4659 allows adjustable pressure on the tank’s cone. Both designs maintain seal integrity, support efficient vapour recovery, and improve operational safety during filling operations.
The Lock Down Device secures top loading arms in the operating position, preventing upward movement during filling operations. Once the drop tube is positioned in the manhole, the operator engages the lock before starting the fill. At the end of the operation, raising the arm releases the locking mechanism.
These devices are particularly effective in installations without a pneumatic system, maintaining consistent pressure on the manhole. This ensures a continuous seal and supports efficient vapour recovery.
Alternative models are also available to suit different operational needs. The Model 4942 Lock Down Device is manually operated via a control lever, locking the arm in place by screwing it in. Meanwhile, the Model 4659 allows the operator to adjust the arm during loading, ensuring proper pressure of the cone on the tank’s manhole.
