Large Bore Swivel Joints – Standard and Specialist Materials up to 72″

Large bore Swivel joints feature either 1 or 2 ball tracks of ball bearings, enabling 360° rotation without any problems, despite simultaneous external loading through force and torque.

If you are looking for a Swivel to take severe loads or in a size greater than 48″ please see our Engineered Swivel Joint.

Materials

The standard large bore swivel joints are normally produced in carbon steel (St52-3, 42CrMo4), stainless steel (1.4571), and also aluminium. Further stainless steels (1.4301, 1.4404) and materials such as Duplex, Super Duplex and Hastelloy are also available on request.

Seals

For the process seals, Axial PTFE groove seal rings are used. In special applications (e.g. FDA in the field of food and hygiene) particular compounds are used. All seals are extremely easy to replace, and available from stock as a seal kit.

Size

Large bore Swivel joints are produced to a nominal width of DN1200 (48″). Many types are available directly from stock, and welded models are available at short notice.

Swivel Joint 2004 Series – Carbon Steel and Low Profile Design

EWFM's Swivel joint 2004 series swivel joint is the most basic low profile swivel of the standard range. With one row of ball bearings this swivel truly is compact. It is a great solution for when you are really limited with vertical space. Having only one set of ball bearings, this swivel will not tolerate significant load, therefore all arms or other forms of articulated pipework must be supported. Like the Swivel Joint 3996 Series this swivel joint is only available in Carbon Steel in sizes of 3″ and 4″ with butt weld ends. If a Compact Swivel of a different material or size is required, please see our Compact Swivel Joint under the engineered Swivel range.

Our engineered Compact Swivel is available in sizes up to 12″ also in various materials. Please note we also offer low temperature versions on request.

Swivel Joint 3996 Series – Carbon Steel and low profile

EWFM’s Swivel Joint 3996 series low profile is a perfect solution where vertical height is limited. Its low profile design compared to that of a normal swivel results in a reduction of height in the overall articulated pipework. This Swivel is often used as part of EWFM’s loading arms where a specific minimised height is required. The Swivel joint is constructed in Carbon Steel with butt weld ends in sizes 3″ and 4″. Although it is low profile this Swivel still has 2 rows of ball bearings on hardened and ground tracks meaning it’s suitable for most conditions and standard loads. We also offer an option with Stainless Steel sealing surfaces which increases the longevity of the Swivel. Please see the Model 2004 for an even more low profile swivel in this case with one set of ball bearings.
