Full Bore Safety Breakaway Coupling

EW Fuel Management Ltd. supply the Full Bore Safety Breakaway Coupling / Emergency Release Coupling. It enables non-destructive, safe and spill-free separation of hoses used for loading and unloading.

Breakaway Coupler separation may be required in the event of unintentional movement by road tanker, rail car, aircraft the drift of a barge or vessel during loading or unloading. Separation occurs by a simple pulling force on the hose line. It is used in both liquids and gases.The unit consists of two halves (Adaptor and Inline) each equipped with zero head loss closure valves. The coupling is held together by clamping levers connections consequently allowing a rapid hook up. As a consequence of a pulling force both closure valves close therefore preventing spills and protecting the environment, operators and also the loading station at the same time.

The coupling is full bore consequently there is zero head loss.

The full bore safety breakaway coupling design incorporates non-destructive separation. It therefore does not require special tools or replacement shear pins to reassemble.

Materials : Stainless Steel 316L, 316Ti. 304, Alloys, Anodised Aluminium

Seals : FPM (FKM Viton), EPDM, FFKM (Chemraz / Kalrez). PTFE (Teflon) flat seal.

End Connections : Threaded female BSP (ISO 228), NPT or with flange types ANSI, DIN, TW, TTMA other flanges and threads are also available on request.
