Colour Coded Hose and Pipe Covers

EWFM supply colour coded hose and pipe covers for use on loading arms. The covers are manufactured in high quality polyurethane and fastened around the pipe by either industrial strength Velcro or heavy duty zips. Because there is no internationally recognised standard in use worldwide for this application use of colours will vary worldwide.

The use of a colour coded system is mainly to prevent product contamination by giving a clear visual identification to the operator. The covers also have the added benefit of preventing the tubes rubbing against the tanker and marking it.

The generally used colours in the UK are as follows:

Typical colour codes

Yellow = Derv.

Brown = Gas Oil.

Red = Premium.

Green = Unleaded.

The British Standard 381C is mainly used for military applications. The length of the covers can be made to the users specification.

Other products to prevent fluid cross contamination are fluid couplers & adaptors with selectivity, see our Coupler section for further information.
